Guðbjörg Linda Rafnsdóttir

Guðbjörg Linda Rafnsdóttir is a professor of sociology at the University of Iceland. She received her Ph.D. in sociology from Lund University, Sweden. Her doctoral thesis focused on the gender segregated labour union in Iceland that existed until the end of the last century.

Since then, she has been involved in sociological and interdisciplinary research projects, mainly on occupational health and well-being, gender, information and communication technology and organizational issues.

Currently, she is participating in a European research project called BIAS: Mitigating diversity biases of AI in the labour market." This project is a collaboration involving nine European countries, and its aim is to increase awareness about the origin and nature of biases that can be created by AI, and to develop a bias mitigation system, so-called Debiaser, to identify and mitigate AI biases in management. Dilys S. Quartey works with her as a PhD student on that project and will take part in the presentation.
