All members who have contributed to the BHM Vocational Education Fund for a total of six months, thereof three consecutive months , are eligible for grants. Gross pay of 428.582 kr. or higher makes you eligible for a maximum grant, 160.000 kr. Gross pay below the aforementioned amount makes you eligible for a grant of 80.000 kr.
After three months of no fund fees the right to grants is diminished.
Discontinuity in Fund Membership, resulting from the following reasons, does not diminish a Fund member's eligibility for grants:
- Maternity/Paternity Leave: Fund members maintain full entitlements during maternity/paternity leave, provided they continue to pay their fees to their respective trade union.
- Unemployment: If a fund member possesses full rights upon the commencement of unemployment, they maintain those rights for a duration of up to one year, provided that union dues are consistently covered. Unions have the authority to prolong this period if the member continues to receive payments from the Unemployment Insurance Fund.
- Unpaid Leave: Fund members retain their accrued rights for the initial 6 months of unpaid leave.
- Illness: A member of a fund who has fully utilized their entitlement to sickness allowance continues to retain other rights within the fund for a maximum of 6 months, provided they have not established rights elsewhere. Members who receive a rehabilitation pension from the State Social Administration (TR) maintain their entitlement to benefits other than sickness allowance.
The Fund's Board assesses whether it is possible to bridge the discontinuity of membership in regards to previous fund membership. Discontinuity of membership can never exceed 6 months.
